The Stake Out 00010

Sagman, Bennett, Robbins, Oppenheim and Taft is the law firm that Jerry stakes out in "The Stake Out"; Vanessa works at this law firm.

In "The Stake Out" Jerry attends a birthday dinner of one of Elaine's friends. Jerry meets Vanessa while at the dinner, and wants to flirt with her, although he is hesitant to do so in front of Elaine. As he goes back and forth between conversations with Elaine and Vanessa, Vanessa mentions that she works at the law firm Sagman, Bennett, Robbins, Oppenheim and Taft, and Jerry repeats the name of the firm in his head over and over. Unfortunately for Jerry, Vanessa leaves the dinner before he is able to learn her name, so he continues to recite the name of the law firm in his head so that he doesn't forget it.

The following day, Jerry and George show up and "stake out" the law offices of Sagman, Bennett, Robbins, Oppenheim and Taft, where Jerry hopes to run into Vanessa. Jerry eventually does meet her, and George makes up the excuse that they are in the building to meet a friend named "Art Vandelay", an importer/exporter. As a result of their meeting, Jerry and Vanessa set up a date and ultimately begin dating.
